Meet the Team Josh

Meet the Team: Josh Preston

This Month’s Meet the Team we have Josh Preston, our Technical Coordinator. Here’s what Josh had to say when we caught up with him:

  1. How long have you worked for Prosale?

3 Years & 2 Months

  1. What’s a skill you’ve picked up here that you didn’t expect to use?

A skill I’ve picked up here that I didn’t expect to use is adaptability in communication. I knew I’d need to be clear and professional, but I didn’t anticipate how often I’d need to shift my communication style based on who I’m working with. Whether it’s simplifying technical info for non-technical users, navigating sensitive feedback, or adjusting tone depending on urgency. It’s made me a much more effective communicator.

  1. What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

I live a very active lifestyle regularly going to the gym and playing rugby on a Saturday afternoon. It’s a very busy schedule, but I’ve done this since a young age and it’s a passion for me. I am finding now, it’s taking longer to recover though.

  1. Is there a hobby or interest you think helps you in your job?

Following on from the above, I feel rugby has helped with in my role significantly. It’s a sport that demands teamwork, communication, and staying calm under pressure. I’ve learned how to trust my teammates, adapt quickly when plans change, and stay focused even in high-stake situations. Those are all things I carry with me into the workplace, especially when working on fast-moving projects.

  1. What’s something not many people know about you?

I am keen for a bit of Karaoke, whether that’s on the bus back from Rugby or a Prosale Christmas do. However, my true singing voice will only come out, if there are a few beers involved.

  1. How has Prosale changed or evolved since you started?

Prosale is always evolving and looking at ways to stand out. We’ve grown not just in size, but in how we approach strategy. Decisions feel more calculated and there’s more emphasis on long-term planning. At the same time, the culture has stayed the same and fast-paced, which I think is part of what makes Prosale unique. It feels like we’re scaling up without losing what made the company great to begin with.

  1. What does a typical day look like for you?

A typical day at Prosale is a mix of structure and flexibility. I usually start by reviewing priorities for the day, whether that’s processing orders, ringing any arranged telephone calls or assisting with updating our CRM System. Everyday is different, as you may need to jump on an urgent project or have to take a phone call to try and resolve anything over the phone. I have a plan in mind but is very loose.

  1. What’s the most exciting project you’ve worked on recently?

We have recently completed a project at the Aston Villa Football Club Shop. Even though I am a United fan, it’s cool to know that next season over 40,000 people will potentially be using the automation on a match day.

  1. If you had to describe the team at Prosale in three words, what would they be?

Professional, Ambitious, Adaptable

  1. What’s the most rewarding part of your job?

I deal with technical questions, at Sales stage, Processing stage & Installation stage. There’s something satisfying about knowing the solutions we provide make a difference. It’s also rewarding to work through technical challenges and see a project come together, from planning to installation.

  1. If Prosale had a mascot, what would it be and why?

Eagle – fast, sharp vision, symbol of trust
Meet The Team Mascot

(Josh wanted me to include his AI art of what it would look like)
  1. What’s your ultimate dream project you’d love Prosale to work on?

My ultimate dream project would be to install automation on Manchester United’s ground, Old Trafford. I have supported them since a young age and with the potential rebuild of the stadium, this would be a pretty cool project to be involved with, looking at the current plans they have in place.
